This Privacy Policy explains how מאחורי ההר - Beyond the hill ("the App", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information. By using מאחורי ההר - Beyond the hill, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
Account details — your email address and password when you register. If you sign in with a third-party provider (such as Google or Facebook), we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider.
Profile information — a username and an optional profile photo you choose to upload.
Content you submit — comments and feedback you post in the App, which are stored together with your username and profile picture.
Information collected automatically:
Location — with your permission, your device's location is used to show nearby springs and to center the map. Location is used while you use the App and is not stored as a location history by us.
App activity — data needed to run features you use, such as your favorites, viewing history, and game scores.
Crash and diagnostic data — when the App crashes or hits an error, we collect a diagnostic report (such as the error type, a stack trace, your device model, OS version, and app version) through Google Firebase Crashlytics so we can find and fix problems. These reports do not include the content of your comments or your password.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
Create and manage your account and keep you signed in.
Show nearby springs and accommodations on the map.
Save your favorites, history, comments, and game scores.
Send account-related emails, such as email verification and password resets.
Operate, maintain, and improve the App.
Keep the App secure and prevent misuse.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. How Your Information Is Shared
We share information only as needed to run the App:
Service providers — we use Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, cloud functions, and crash reporting via Crashlytics), Google Maps, Google AdMob (advertising), and an email delivery service. These providers process data on our behalf.
Third-party sign-in providers — if you choose to sign in with them.
Legal reasons — if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the App.
Your comments and username are visible to other users within the App.
4. Advertising
מאחורי ההר - Beyond the hill shows ads through Google AdMob to support the free App, including rewarded ads you choose to watch in exchange for in-app benefits.
AdMob and its advertising partners may collect and use technical data — such as your advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information, and ad interaction data — to serve ads and measure their performance.
If you consent, this data may also be used to show you personalized ads based on your interests. Without consent, you may still see ads, but they will not be personalized.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may be shown a consent message asking whether you agree to personalized advertising, managed through Google's consent management platform under the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework. You can change your choice at any time before continuing to use ad-supported features.
You can manage ad personalization at the device level in Settings → Google → Ads (Android) or Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (iOS).
Your data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure. We use reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including authenticated access tokens for account actions. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. When you delete your account, we remove your associated personal data, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Location — you can enable or disable location access at any time in your device settings.
Account data — you can view and update your profile in the App, and you can delete your account to remove your data.
Access and deletion — you may contact us to request access to or deletion of your personal information.
Delete your account — you can delete your account and all associated data directly in the app: open the Account tab, scroll to the bottom of your Profile, tap Delete account, and confirm. This permanently removes your account, favorites, history, comments, and profile picture.
Ad personalization — you can decline personalized advertising via the consent message shown in the App (where applicable) or through your device's ad settings, as described in Section 4.
8. Children's Privacy
מאחורי ההר - Beyond the hill is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Users
Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country. By using the App, you consent to this processing.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
